The scheme, part of the Port Polska programme, covers delivery of a large-scale underground station box and twin-direction tunnel carrying high-speed and conventional rail. Contract award is targeted for Q1 2027.
The bidding teams are:
- MIRBUD (leader), KOBYLARNIA, TORPOL
- MOSTOSTAL Warszawa (leader), NDI, NDI Sopot, INTERCOR
- PORR (leader), Gülermak
- STRABAG (leader), TYM-BUD
Up to five bidders will be invited to the next stage of the procurement.
The contract is split into two lots:
- eastern and central section, including the underground station and interchange hub
- western section, including tunnel works and track junctions
Both lots include optional scope for track systems and the supply, commissioning and maintenance of handling equipment.
The planned tunnel will extend approximately 6km along an east–west alignment, with a total excavation volume of around 3.5Mm³.
At the eastern end, the tunnel will accommodate six tracks, expanding to twelve in the station area (including two through tracks, providing a total of ten platform faces), before narrowing again to six tracks towards the west. The western exit will enable services towards Gdańsk, Wrocław and Łódź, while the eastern end will provide direct connections to Warsaw.

The station and tunnel beneath the new airport are scheduled to be completed by the end of 2032, in line with the opening of the high-speed rail section between Warsaw and Łódź. Further sections of the “Y” network—from Łódź to Wrocław and from Sieradz to Poznań—are expected to be operational by the end of 2035.
“Participants in the competitive dialogue are highly experienced contractors… we expect timely delivery of this demanding project,” said CPK CEO Filip Czernicki.
