Tunnel boring is set to begin on the US$16bn Hudson Tunnel Project between New Jersey and New York, with the first of two 8.74m diameter Herrenknecht TBMs undergoing final testing ahead of its launch through the Palisades.

VINCI Construction has strengthened its US tunnelling operations with the acquisition of specialist microtunnelling and underground works contractor Bradshaw Construction by its Soletanche Bachy subsidiary.

Construction of Snowy 2.0’s 1km deep underground power station has entered a new phase, with permanent concrete works under way and excavation of the project’s huge machine and transformer halls more than 90% complete.
